Since its first pair Nike has launched many versions
to date. There are over 12 versions. There are also other styles. The first version was in Red and Black
colors and it was the first of its kind for Jordan I. There has been a lot of misconception
that the first version of Air Jordan was banned in fact it was Nike Air Ship
that was banned. Air Jordan introduced more colors but having more white. These
color combinations came to be known as ‘Chicago’
colors, and ‘Black Toe’ colors.
The banning was to stop Nike having more
competitiveness and that those who wore them were associated with unlawful
activities. The design was recreated by adding blue accents, black overlays, and
Fragment insignia. The Air Jordan I was released in 1994 and is also known as
retro. Other retro were released in 2001-4 and 2007-2018.
